The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Government Commits to Supporting Tourism Promotion and Investment

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board of Investment and Trade (KP-BoIT) held a highly significant meeting on Monday with a primary focus on initiatives aimed at promoting the tourism sector and attracting domestic and foreign investors to its rapid and robust growth.

Zafar Mehmood, Advisor to the caretaker Chief Minister on Tourism and Culture, and Muhammad Adnan Jalil, Provincial Minister for Industries and Commerce, jointly chaired the meeting. In the meeting, the provincial minister and the advisor to the chief minister received comprehensive overviews of investment opportunities, measures, and goals in the tourism sector of the province.

A detailed briefing on Integrated Tourism Zones was given, considering the province’s historical and strategic location, as well as the potential for economic development through tourism. The meeting also shed light on cluster zones and integrated development zones that will encourage investments in the province’s tourist destinations from various companies.

Moreover, the minister stated that the department of industry would provide all the necessary support and facilities for the promotion of tourism. He stressed the natural beauty of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as well as its numerous tourist spots, and said that promoting them could help stabilize the economy of the province. Furthermore, he acknowledged the importance of domestic and international investors in assisting the rapid growth of the tourism industry in the province.

In addition, Jalil highlighted the abundance of natural beauty in the province and emphasised the need to enact laws and policies to attract investors for tourism development. By utilizing the natural resources of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and implementing investor-friendly policies for sustainable growth, the attendees made a solemn commitment to advancing the tourism sector.
